TORRINGTON – Some local middle school students, jazzed about history, will be completing in the Regional History Day Contest next Saturday at Torrington High School.

Originally scheduled for the first weekend of the month, snow led to its rescheduling. The extension gave three eighth-graders from Torrington Middle School a chance to dig even deeper into their projects. If they place in the regional contest, they will advance to the state competition May 6 at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, where they will vie for a chance at nationals in June at the University of Maryland.
